ACMA, NYU Silver School of Social Work and NYU Langone Medical Center Announce the 2011 Social Work Case Management Fellowship
Applications are now being accepted for the American Case Management Association's (ACMA) 2011 Social Work Case Management Fellowship program. The Fellowship is governed and bestowed by ACMA in partnership with the New York University Silver School of Social Work and NYU Langone Medical Center in New York, NY.
The fellowship affords an MSW graduate with experiences and training in case management that will enhance their job marketability and career path in Hospital Case Management.

In 2010, ACMA created the Social Work Fellowship program to further promote social work in the hospital/clinical setting and raise awareness regarding social work’s key role in Hospital Case Management. The 2010 Fellowship was conducted in partnership with the University of Southern California School of Social Work and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA.

The fellowship is a nine-month hospital-based program that includes Hospital Case Management training, project work, multi-hospital exposure, research, professional membership in ACMA, a national conference speaking opportunity, and a case management model comparative study. The 2011 Fellowship will be conducted at NYU Langone Medical Center under the direction of Brenda Ohta, PhD, MSW, MSG, CPHQ, Senior Director of Care Management.

Senior Director of Care Management

One individual will be selected for the 2011 Fellowship through an application process. The application deadline is March 25, 2011 at 5:00 PM CDT, and the Fellowship recipient will be announced after April 9, 2011. There is no fee to apply.
Who Should Apply?
All applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the Fellowship:
- Masters in Social Work (MSW) degree from an accredited CSWE school of social work
- Completion of a minimum 60 credit /2 year program
- Hospital / health system experience of:
- Last year's field practicum or second-year placement must have been in a hospital / health system, or
- Candidate must have at least one year of prior hospital / health system experience (post-Masters)
The Fellow will receive a stipend of $50,000 as their compensation during the fellowship. In addition, travel expenses related to site visits and conference attendance required by the Fellowship will be paid by ACMA.
