ACMA, the University of Southern CA School of Social Work & Cedars Sinai Medical Center Create Social Work Case Management Fellowship

The American Case Management Association (ACMA) is pleased to announce the inception of the ACMA Social Work Fellowship program. The Fellowship is governed and bestowed by ACMA in partnership with the University

of Southern California School of Social Work and Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA , and offers a premiere educational experience for social work professionals desiring to expand their understanding of hospital social work and case management practice.

ACMA's commitment to the practice of social work and member suggestions determined that an investment needed to be made to position social work's credibility as a key role in hospital case management. This fellowship will afford an MSW graduate with experiences and training in case management that will enhance their job marketability and career path in hospital case management.

"This is one of the most exciting things ACMA has done in the realm of education and will bring national recognition to the practice of social work in hospital case management."
- L. Greg Cunningham, MHA - CEO, ACMA

The fellowship is a nine-month hospital-based program that includes hospital case management training, project work, multi-hospital exposure, research, professional membership in ACMA, a national conference speaking opportunity, and a case management model comparative study. The 2010 Fellowship will be conducted at Cedars Sinai Medical Center under the direction of Sharon Mass, Ph.D., LCSW, ACM, Director of Case Management.

"A Fellowship partnership between a School of Social Work, a professional association, and an academic medical center is a first for social work practice. I am honored and excited to be a part of this unique opportunity. A candidate completing the Fellowship will strengthen their graduate training with experiential learning and national recognition."
- Sharon Mass, Ph.D., LCSW, ACM
