Normal vs. Complicated Grief presented by Katie Monahan, Manager of Business Development, TRANSITIONS HOSPICE

Wednesday, July 15, 2020

12:00PM - 1:00PM

A Zoom CEU

Grief is a multifaceted response to loss, particularly to the loss of someone or something that has died, to which a bond or affection was formed. Although conventionally focused on the emotional response to loss, it also has physical, cognitive, behavioral, social, and philosophical dimensions. Complicated Grief exists when normal grief reactions become so severe and last so long as to significantly impair one’s functioning in the world: socially, occupationally, and in activities of daily living. This presentation aims to help the clinician identify risk indicators for complicated grief, become familiar with assessment tools that can be used to determine increased risk and learn interventions and strategies to improve bereavement care planning.

1.0 CEU will be awarded to Illinois Nurses, Licensed Professional Counselors/Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors & Social Workers.

Please see attached flyer for additional information.
