Welcome to the South Carolina Chapter

Chapter Information

South Carolina Chapter (est. 2003)

Our chapter represents Case Management professionals who reside and/or work in the state of South Carolina.

Chapter Dues: NO chapter dues are required in addition to national dues for chapter membership.

By joining the South Carolina Chapter of the ACMA, you gain access to a collaborative network of individuals who are dedicated to the advancement of hospital/health system case management.

The SC chapter sponsors two key educational events annually, a spring and fall conference to discuss the many challenges and opportunities facing our state and hospital-based case management. In addition to providing education, these events provide an excellent opportunity for networking with case management colleagues on various issues and topics.

"The South Carolina Chapter prides itself in a great working relationship with our ACMA chapter manager; regular meetings; constant communication; engagement and teamwork from the members, board and past ACMA South Carolina leaders. We attribute our success in achieving Chapter of Merit this year to the collaborative work of an engaged South Carolina chapter." Karla Lamb, South Carolina Chapter President

The Chapter of Excellence & Merit program defines outstanding chapter performance by outlining the standards of practice for optimal chapter operation. Chapters achieve these awards by demonstrating performance in the key areas of chapter operations and attaining specific growth and development benchmarks.

I am sure you all are very busy this time of year and wanted you to all to know that we have been busy planning a great day of networking and education just for you!

Our 2019 South Carolina ACMA Fall Conference will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at the SC Hospital Association in Columbia SC.  The education committee has been working diligently to secure our speakers that extend from the inpatient setting to the ambulatory setting! We have maintained our exhibitor support that will overflow into an additional room so we will have some exciting door prizes to give away. We will also be giving away some conference registrations! Please plan to join us.

The brochure is attached and the link for registration is below:

We have continued to try to keep the cost to a minimum and provided a central location for ease of travel.

Also, we have confirmed our 2020 Spring Conference dates – March 12 and 13, 2020 at the Embassy Suites in Columbia SC – so save those dates for our anticipated 2 day conference which we have moved to the Spring!

Thank you for all the hard work you do every day! We look forward to seeing you all very soon!

Warm regards,

As case managers, we live in a world of constant change. No matter where these changes come from—our supervisors, hospitals or clinicians—there’s always going to be another one that catches us off guard. Many leaders assume change will cause mistakes, missed deadlines and are just the cost of doing business. They treat change as an unavoidable occurrence rather than asking an important question we’ll be addressing this year at the 2019 Leadership and Physician Conference in Miami: How do we pivot with the change in the case management industry? Get five simple questions to ask before you and your care team tackle your next week, project or case load. Read More >>>

ACMA recently established a transitions of care standards framework that applies to all health care settings to foster effective, high quality and efficient care transitions. Every standard presented describes both the structure and the services required to meet that standard. The standards help organizations assess, quantify and identify gaps in their current care transition work plan. This framework allows an organization to evaluate return on investment of care transitions efforts as a mechanism to reduce utilization and enhance quality and patient experience (value-based care ROI). Assess your team today. Learn More >>>
