ACMA to Host Three-Part Webinar Series Featuring IHI Expert Faculty Member

Beginning March 14, ACMA will host a three-part webinar series titled "Refining Hospital Patient Flow." In this in-depth series, Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) expert faculty member Deborah Kaczynski, MS, will introduce participants to the tools and strategies that are part of the Real-Time Demand Capacity process (RTDC). RTDC is a practical and effective method for improving flow, developed during IHI's Hospital-Wide Patient Flow Collaborative and piloted at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center under Ms. Kaczynski's guidance.

The series is complimentary for all paid attendees of the 2012 Leadership Conference in Austin, Texas. The sessions are available to all others at $199 for the three-part series.

Speaker: Deborah J. Kaczynski
Deborah J. Kaczynski, MS, is Senior Administrative Director at UPMC Mercy, a part of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Health System in Pittsburgh, PA. She has administrative oversight of Pharmacy Services, Care Management, Environmental Services, Food and Nutrition, Capacity Management and Organizational Excellence. She helps to support UPMC Health System's Patient Flow initiatives and is faculty for IHI's Learning and Innovation Community on Improving Flow through Acute Care Settings. Ms. Kaczynski co-authored an article on patient flow which appeared in the May 2011 issue of The Joint Commission Journal on Quality and Patient Safety entitled "Timeliness and Efficiency: Using Real-Time Demand Capacity Management to Improve Hospitalwide Patient Flow."

Continuing Education
Registration fee includes up to 10 CE certificates per webinar. Participants may earn up to 1.25 Nursing Contact Hours per webinar (based on 60-min hour) and up to 1.25 Social Work Contact Hours per webinar (based on 60-min hour). This CE activity is approved by ACMA for ACM Certification renewal. CEs will be available through April 30, 2013.
