Session Description:This session will educate participants on the work of the ACMA Public Policy Committee and its top
priorities. The speakers will also review recent legislative changes in Arizona that impact case
management and transitions of care professionals. 2024 AZ legislative priorities impacting healthcare
will also be discussed.
Session Objectives:
1. Describe the role of the ACMA Public Policy Committee and how you can lend your voice as a case
manager or transitions of care professional.
2. Identify strategies for impactful advocacy specific to key priorities including activities at the chapter and national levels.
3. Examine top issues and legislative priorities at both the national and state level that impact the
landscape for case management and transitions of care professionals.
Session Presenters:
Pamela Foster is the Vice President of Care Coordination for the HonorHealth network in the greater
Phoenix area. She oversees inpatient case management, transitional care management, disease
management programs, home based services and behavioral health services for HonorHealth. She has over 30 years of experience in healthcare and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has a master’s degree in social work from Arizona State University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix. She has been a member of ACMA since 2008 and has held many committee membership roles within ACMA. She served as the national president for ACMA from 2016-2018.
Brittney Kaufmann serves at the CEO of the Health System Alliance of Arizona. The Alliance represents the major hospital systems that account for nearly 80 percent of hospital-related care in Arizona, across 40 cities and towns, with approximately 580 facilities, and nearly 80,000 employees.
