Welcome to the North Carolina Chapter

Chapter Information

The North Carolina Chapter was established in 2003. We have members across our great state and hope you will join us. Case Management Professionals who work or reside in the state of North Carolina are encouraged to join.

There is NO additional fee to join our local chapter.

We sponsor two key events: a spring and fall conference that address current issues in case management. These events provide our members an excellent opportunity to network in addition to learning and sharing from the collective wealth of experiences of all participants.

The NC Chapter has grown to over 250 members. We are committed to advancing the practice of Case Management, supporting our members in their practice, and providing growth opportunities.

We hope you will join ACMA and the North Carolina chapter and help us advance our practice in our state and nationally.

2019 ACMA NC Spring Conference

Please join us for the ACMA - NC Chapter Spring Conference in Greensboro, NC!  

NETWORK: This annual event is a wonderful opportunity to network with fellow case managers and social workers from across the Carolinas.

LEARN: Diverse learning sessions cover a broad array of healthcare industry and case management-specific topics directly impacting our everyday work, including care coordination, utilization review, transitions, readmissions, and caring for the aging and complex patient.  

The two-day conference earns you up to nine (9.0) continuing education (CE) hours for Nursing, Social Work, ACM, CCM, or Nursing Home Administrator credit.

Crystal Redding Memorial Scholarship Award

We are experiencing some issues with our electronic nomination form. If you would like to complete a nomination, please e-mail us at acmanc@yahoo.com and we will get you a paper copy.  The deadline for submissions has been extended to January 10, 2019. 

EACH YEAR THE CRYSTAL REDDING AWARD GIVES A NORTH CAROLINA CHAPTER MEMBER OF THE ACMA THE OPPORTUNITY TO ATTEND ITS NATIONAL CONFERENCE. 

CRYSTAL REDDING WAS A BELOVED COLLEAGUE AND FRIEND OF THE ACMA'S NORTH CAROLINA CHAPTER.

This Award is given in Crystal's honor to recognize her professional contributions. Crystal was a Registered Nurse and held a Master's Degree in Health Administration. She was the Director of Case Management at Forsyth Medical Center and several other Novant hospitals. Crystal passed away in 2010, after a long battle with cancer. She is also remembered for her independent approach for the good of her work and people.

AWARD INCLUDES:

  • Early Registration fees for the 2020 National ACMA Conference
  • Conference hotel room expenses up to 3 nights
  • Travel expenses not to exceed $500.00 (Car travel limited to $300.00/Air Travel limited to $500.00)

CRITERIA:

  • Registered nurse or social worker currently practicing in North Carolina
  • Chapter member in good standing
  • Innovative practice of Case Management
  • Courage in the face of challenges
  • Humor in the workplace
  • Teamwork

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?

  1. Talk with your team about those members who exemplify innovation, humor, teamwork, and courage in the workplace
  2. Ensure they are a good standing member of NC ACMA
  3. Make a nomination to NC ACMA by January 10, 2019

Welcome New Board Members

Please join the NC Chapter in welcoming our newly elected board members for the 2019-2021 term.

Katie Flanagan is our newly elected SW Member-at-Large. Katie is the Assistant Director of Care Management at UNC Health Care.

Angela Cummings is our newly elected RN Member-at-Large. Angela is the Director of Utilization Management at Duke University Health Systems.

Close the Medicare Observation Coverage Gap
