Improving Access to Medicare Coverage Act
The Improving Access to Medicare Coverage Act of 2023 would ensure Medicare covers doctor-recommended, post-acute care by counting the time spent under "observation status" towards the requisite three-day hospital stay for coverage of skilled nursing care.
The ACMA Public Policy Committee recently spent time on Capitol Hill advocating for the passage of this legislation and now we need your help!

Memorial Scholarship Fund to Honor Karen Vanaskie
American Case Management Association (ACMA) is proud to announce the establishment of the ACMA Karen Vanaskie Scholarship Fund, to posthumously honor the legacy and contributions of Karen Vanaskie DNP, MSN, RN, ACM-RN, CCM, RN-BC, BCPA, CMAC.??
At the time of her unexpected passing on June 20, 2024, Karen was Chief Clinical Officer at Innovation Care Partners and served as ACMA’s National Board Secretary/Treasurer. Karen had been an ACMA member for 13 years and was a founding board member of the ACMA Arizona Chapter. Karen had a profound impact on the case management and transitions of care community.??
The ACMA Karen Vanaskie Scholarship Fund is a testament to Karen’s commitment to case management excellence. She was passionate about her staff advancing their skills by achieving case management certification. Her scholarship fund will continue her legacy by supporting case management professionals in their journey to achieve certification.?
