Abstract: As our environment has become more isolated due to the COVID-19 pandemic, behavioral challenges have markedly increased- not only for patients, but for families. This presentation employs a collaborative stance with patients and families to increase effective interactions and problem-solving skills. Utilizing the correct mindset of person-centered care through the lens of dementia awareness and within an ethical framework, the group will learn to identify challenging behaviors and develop creative strategies to lessen or eliminate the behaviors. We will share insights on partnerships to success for behavioral health through knowledge of medication and its effects, validated tools and resources, and necessary communication across the continuum of care in all healthcare settings.
