Chapter Information

The ACMA Maryland Chapter, established in 2003, represents Nurses, Social Workers, Physician Advisors, Nurse Practitioners, Community Health Workers, Case Management Assistants and other professionals who work in case management and transitions of care and who reside and/or work in Maryland, Delaware, DC or West Virginia.

ACMA national and Maryland Chapter membership allows you to better connect with case management professionals, gain access to resources in Maryland and surrounding states, while still ensuring you have access to the innovative resources and research available through ACMA's nationwide network of 8,000+ case management and transitions of care professionals.

Chapter Dues: Free with National ACMA membership

The Chapter of Excellence program defines outstanding chapter performance by outlining the standards of practice for optimal chapter operation. Chapters achieve these awards by demonstrating performance in the key areas of chapter operations and attaining specific growth and development benchmarks.

The ACMA Maryland Chapter would like to thank everyone for helping to make our 19th Annual ACMA MD Chapter Case Management and Transitions of Care Conference so successful this year! From our attendees, our speakers, and wonderful community partner Exhibitors, the feedback has been very positive and we had a lot of fun!  

A huge thank you to our ACMA MD Chapter Board, Conference Planning Committee/Education Committee, Membership Committee, Community Partner Exhibitor Committee and our National ACMA team for providing a safe, fun and educational day for all!

Description of Committees:

Membership/Attendance Committee:

  • Meets monthly via Webex or Zoom.
  • Reviews the annual membership and conference attendee growth goal as provided by ACMA National and plan chapter strategies for achievement.
  • Reviews non-renewing members each month and executes local retention strategies.
  • Creates and executes strategies for achieving annual meeting attendee goal
  • Monitors registration and assist with ACMA National marketing.
  • Ideal committee for those who enjoy welcoming people, helping them to feel comfortable at events, someone who is enthusiastic about how ACMA is helpful for networking and professional development, and/or has a lot of case management professional contacts.

Education Committee:

  • Meets monthly via Webex or Zoom.  Closer to conference could meet more often.
  • Plans and presents a minimum of eight hours of approved continuing education credits for nurses and social workers.
  • Assists the Membership/Attendance Committee in monitoring registration and assisting with ACMA National marketing.
  • Creates educational opportunities throughout the year to engage with case management professionals
  • Ideal committee for those who enjoy planning conferences or educational events, interested in professional development, and/or has contact with or ideas for speakers.

Exhibitor Committee:

  • Meets monthly via Webex or Zoom.
  • Annually review community partner/Exhibitor goals and marketing list as provided by National, and provide recommendations, add new leads/contacts
  • Provide information on companies/services that relate to Case Management and Transitions of Care
  • Collaborate with Director of Exhibitor Sales
  • Influence local vendors to be present at the exhibition via emails/calls/reminders to reps.
  • Provide ideas for onsite and post-conference exhibitor appreciation and retention strategies.
  • Ideal committee for those who like to chat and network with community partner Exhibitors/Vendor liasions, interested in providing resources to conference and educational session attendees, and/or have a lot of community partner contacts. 

Social Media Committee:

  • Meets monthly via Webex or Zoom.
  • Responsible for developing the chapter’s social media strategy and execution.
  • A well-executed social media strategy will help the chapter (and ACMA National) gain exposure with potential members and increase engagement with its current members.
  • Responsible for keeping social media content current, consistent and relevant while evaluating the effectiveness of the strategy and adjusting as necessary.
  • Ideal committee for those who have experience with technology, newsletters and social media platforms or are willing to learn, enthusiastic about ACMA activities, like to connect with other case management professionals.

Join ACMA and Sunovion Pharmaceuticals on February 2 to discuss the current behavioral health challenges for both patients and providers in navigating a course through the pandemic. The webinar will include a focus on the ongoing effects of the lockdowns and thoughts on the longer-term implications for providing care to patients with serious mental illness.
