OIG Study: Medicare Part A Claims Appeals Skyrocket
The number of first-level appeals of Medicare Part A claims, or redeterminations, increased more than five-fold for inpatient hospital services and seven-fold for home health services between 2008 and 2012, according to a study released Thursday by the Department of Health and Human Services's Office of Inspector General (OIG). November 15, 2013, is the ACM Certification exam application deadline for the first quarter of 2014. Applications and payment must be received by the ACMA National Office by this date in order to take the exam during January, February or March.
