NBC Nightly News Suggests Observation Status is an Arbitrary Decision
Last month NBC Nightly News aired a segment to warn Medicare beneficiaries of the higher prices they could pay when they are placed under observation in the hospital. The reporter interviewed a Harvard professor of public health who suggests that many patients are arbitrarily placed under observation for the financial benefit of the hospital. In the video, Medicare beneficiaries who are placed under observation are encouraged to "argue" and "be persistent" until the physician is persuaded to admit the patient so that Medicare will pay for any needed rehabilitation services post-discharge. National Board of Directors Election
Vote by March 17, 2014

Candidates have been finalized for the ACMA National Board of Directors election, and it is now time to cast your vote for the individuals who will lead your association.

This year ACMA members will elect four board positions:
  • President-elect (social worker)
  • Board Member-at-Large (nurse)
  • Board Member-at-Large (nurse)
  • Board Member-at-Large (social worker)
