Federal Government Shutdown is Possible

Posted on: 1/19/2018

The Federal government's current funding agreement deadline is this evening. Absent a new agreement, the federal government will enter into shutdown protocols beginning Monday morning.

Under a bipartisan agreement that was signed by President Trump on December 22nd, the federal government received enough funding to remain open and operational through this evening. The agreement gave lawmakers additional time to negotiate funding and policy issues that have remained unresolved for some time, and absent another short-term funding agreement the government will be forced to shutdown.

Spending bills related to healthcare that remain unsettled in Congress and are impeding progress toward a funding agreement include:

• A long-term extension of the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP)

• Repeal of certain healthcare-related taxes

ACMA will continue to keep you updated on the latest healthcare related issues from Capitol Hill.

They treat change as an unavoidable occurrence rather than asking an important question we’ll be addressing this year at the 2019 Leadership and Physician Conference in Miami: How do we pivot with the change in the case management industry? Get five simple questions to ask before you and your care team tackle your next week, project or case load. Read More >>>

National Transitions of Care Standards Framework

ACMA recently established a transitions of care standards framework that applies to all health care settings to foster effective, high quality and efficient care transitions. Every standard presented describes both the structure and the services required to meet that standard. The standards help organizations assess, quantify and identify gaps in their current care transition work plan. This framework allows an organization to evaluate return on investment of care transitions efforts as a mechanism to reduce utilization and enhance quality and patient experience (value-based care ROI). Assess your team today. Learn More >>>
