How To Use Learning Link
Listed below are guidelines that should be followed with every posting along with frequently asked questions regarding Learning Link.
Learning Link Etiquette
- Include your signature or contact information on all postings. Include your name, title, organization, location (city and state), and e-mail address.
- State concisely and clearly the specific topic of the comments in the subject line. This allows members to respond more appropriately to your posting and makes it easier for members to search the archives by subject.
- Include only the relevant portions of the original message in your reply, delete any header information, and put your response before the original posting.
- When creating a new thread, ensure you create a new subject line as well
- Only send a message to the entire list when it contains information that everyone can benefit from.
- Send messages such as "thanks for the information" or "me, too" to individuals--not to the entire list.
- Do not send administrative messages; such as "remove me from the list," through the discussion list, change my email address. See instructions below for details.
How do I Send or Reply to a Message?
Sending a New Message:
To post a message with a new subject, send an email to "learninglink@acmaweb.org".
Replying to a message:
- Using the reply button in your e-mail application will automatically send your response to the entire list. To reply directly to a member of the list, forward the e-mail and copy and paste his or her e-mail address into the "To:" line.
- To reply to messages you receive from the discussion list, be sure that the email address in the "To:" line appears as "learninglink@acmaweb.org".
- Avoid resending the entire message to which you are replying by cutting and pasting the relevant parts into your response. And, please do not resend a digest back to the e-mail list.
