Chapter Manual

Welcome, Chapter Board Members!

As elected Board Members, you are entrusted with the responsibility to govern and lead the Chapter in a manner that positively represents the membership and the national ACMA. Serving and governing as a Chapter Board Member requires knowledge regarding many different policies and procedures.

To assist you in governing your chapter, we are providing you with a Chapter Manual. This manual provides you with policies, guidelines, helpful templates/resources and answers to frequently asked questions. The manual is intended to provide a resource of information so that existing, growing, and new chapters can all avoid "reinventing the wheel."

A lesson learned in ACMA's history is that no chapter manual answers all questions or provides the guidance for every issue. ACMA is a relatively young association and new issues will continue to come up in which the decision will be precedent setting. These issues should be referred to your Manager of Chapter & Meeting Services or National Board Liaison. These roles will facilitate answers to questions as needed or provide guidance regarding how your chapter should proceed.

ACMA also has a Chapter Advisory Council, CAC, which is a national President appointed committee made up of current/past chapter leaders to provide input and chapter perspective on policies. The CAC drafts policies as needed and submits them to the national board for approval. The CAC has reviewed and approved the content of this manual. The CAC also works closely with provisional and new chapters, as well as individuals who are interested in forming a chapter of the ACMA in their geographic area.

Please review this manual carefully. If you have any questions, please contact your Manager of Chapter & Meeting Services at 501-907-2262.
