Rules for Remote Proctoring

APLCM and ACMA are happy to announce remote proctoring as an option to take your certification examination. Remote proctoring is offered through Pearson VUE’s OnVUE online testing platform, which will allow you to take your proctored test anytime, anywhere.

Candidates are expected to follow all rules and polices in place when taking their proctored examination. Violators may be assigned a warning and/or denied the opportunity to continue with their examination. If this occurs, you will forfeit your exam fee and be required to purchase a new exam.

WORK devices of any kind are not allowed for remote proctoring. Your exam will automatically be forfeited if a WORK device is used for remote proctoring. Before you book your appointment, you must ensure you meet the minimum requirements listed on Pearson VUE’s landing page. You must also complete the “Run system Test.” If your device does not meet OnVUE’s testing requirements, your appointment will be canceled, and your exam will be forfeited.

Candidates must also have proper identification when taking their exam using the remote proctoring modality. THE NAME ON BOTH OF YOUR IDENTIFICATION MUST MATCH THE NAME ON YOUR PEARSON VUE ACCOUNT. If you need to update your name, please call ACMA ahead of your exam (at least 7 business hours before your scheduled appointment). Failure to provide proper identification will result in a forfeit of your exam fee. Middle initials/names, and addresses are not reviewed during the check-in process.

Examples of rules that must be followed:

  • No use of cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, or other electronic devices
  • Entire face must be visible at all times. Covering the camera is not allowed
  • Exam setting must be in a private setting (preferably an enclosed room with a door). Open public space is not allowed
  • You must remain at your workspace area
  • No form of talking, whispering, or moving your lips are allowed
  • Capture of screenshots of the test screens or the tests results page are not allowed
  • Browsing other websites are not allowed
  • Breaks are not allowed
  • Food and drinks are not allowed except for water in a clear glass or plastic bottle (label must be removed)
  • No reference materials, scratch paper, pen & pencils, calculator, and dry erase white board are allowed
  • Ensure your laptop is fully charged or plugged into the charger
  • Ensure those nearby are aware you are taking your exam. If anyone enters the room, your exam will be shut down and you will not be able to resume
  • WORK devices of any kind are not allowed for remote proctoring. Your exam will automatically be forfeited if a WORK device is used for remote proctoring
  • Failure to provide proper identification will result in a forfeit of your exam fee.

System Requirements for Remote Proctoring

Before taking an ACM exam that is remotely proctored, your system must have certain technical requirements in place. If your system does not meet the requirements before starting your examination, you may not be able to test and will forfeit your exam fees. Please ensure your device is compatible in advance.

Before you book your appointment, you must ensure you meet the minimum requirements listed on Pearson VUE’s landing page. You must also complete the “Run system Test.” If your device does not meet OnVUE’s testing requirements, your appointment will be canceled, and your exam will be forfeited.

Pearson VUE OnVUE’s testing platform does not support:

  • Virtual Machines
  • Beta versions of Windows or MacOS
  • Tablets, phones, earbuds, headphones, or watches
  • Secondary displays or touch screens
  • Corporate Network or Virtual Private Networks (VPNs)

Please visit Pearson VUE to obtain additional information about OnVUE’s online testing platform.

Karen Vanaskie Scholarship Fund

Karen Vanaskie was one of case management's brightest and most dedicated professionals. She was serving as Secretary / Treasurer on the ACMA National Board of Directors at the time of her unexpected passing on June 21, 2024.

At the request of Karen's family, ACMA has set up the Karen Vanaskie Scholarship Fund. Karen was passionate about the need for case management certification. She actively supported her staff in pursuing the Accredited Case Manager (ACM) Certification. To continue her legacy, this scholarship fund will cover the cost of their ACM certification application fee for those to whom it is awarded. We believe this continues Karen's legacy.
