This presentation will review Inova Fairfax Hospital's journey to expand their UR services to 7 days a week, 12-15 hours a day in the ED and throughout the hosptial in order to assure patients are going to the right place at the right time with the right care. We will discuss our process, the changes we made in our UR process and the collaboration we have with the ED, Bed Placement, the Observation Unit team and the admitting Physicians. We will discuss changes we made to our EMR system to improve our UR process and to improve patient throughput and reduce denials and Length of Stay.
