Publication Date: 12/2/2014

Speaker: Viki Kind, MA
Length: 1 hour and 10 minutes

Learn the legal and ethical obligations, along with communication strategies to manage these complicated situations:
  1. When there is nobody to speak for the patient and there aren’t enough public guardians available.
  2. When the treatment is medically futile but nobody is willing to say, “Stop.”
  3. When the advance directive isn’t being respected by the doctor and/or the family.
  4. When there is confusion regarding honoring the POLST vs. the Advance Directive.
