Human Trafficking Training for Health Care Providers

Publication Date: 1/4/2023

Length: 88 minutes 37 seconds

Content Level: 1.5 General CE

Abstract
Research shows that most victims of trafficking interact with health care providers during exploitation, but few health care providers report confidence in identifying and effectively responding to trafficked patients. This training bridges that gap by helping health care providers understand human trafficking and who is most vulnerable. Participants will learn to identify red flags, respond with trauma-informed care and connect patients with resources that can help them out of exploitation.

Learning Objectives
1. Define human trafficking.
2. Identify vulnerabilities and red flags of trafficking.
3. Identify effective ways to respond to a patient who may be exploited.
