Abstract
As the pandemic raged and hospital resources were stretched thin, care shifted to the ambulatory setting. As health care systems strive to optimize efficiency and reduce costs, the shift of surgical site of service from inpatient to ambulatory care settings isn't going away – especially under value-based arrangements. In this session, industry experts explore the market conditions driving this shift and discuss strategies for providers to prepare for the upcoming changes. They highlight the importance of ensuring patients receive the appropriate care in the safest setting, as well as utilizing evidence-based content to support efficient and consistent decision-making by payers and providers. By focusing on patient safety, optimizing resource allocation, and leveraging evidence-based practices, providers can successfully transition to ambulatory care while safeguarding revenue and meeting market demands.
